Yes, I like to travel to exotic locations to take pictures, but I am most satisfied by taking pictures of the world that illuminates me in my daily life. These colorful dawn pictures are all from Washington DC and were taken over a period of several years from my east facing living room window. They encompass all of the seasons of the year. I would arise religiously every day before the first light and set up a tripod and camera in the open window and wait for the sun to rise over Rock Creek Park.
Many days I was disappointed, but often enough I was astounded by the beauty and variety of the sky at the beginning of a new day. It was always a special treat that was worth waiting for. I hope you enjoy these pictures as much as I enjoyed taking them.
