Parrot Tulips are flamboyant with their curly, twisted, and fringed petals that resemble the brilliant plumage of the tropical birds of the same name. Their hues reflect the arresting spectrum of the colors of rainbows that have been separated and displayed briefly by the prisms of water droplets in a wet sky. They are the largest and most spectacular of all tulips. They remind me of visions of Georgia O’Keeffe.
