The lotus has been for millenia a source of inspiration, spiritual insight, peace, and universal love. The lotus has been a symbol of the divinity of the Buddha and his teachers through the centuries. So it is not an ordinary flower, and it is well to be aware of this when you encounter the lotus rising above the murky waters of our karma to reach towards union with our creation. I love to photograph the lotus.
The National Aquatic Gardens has literally acres of lotus with flowers that emerge and extend upwards in perfection in July of every year. As you can see from these photographs, the lotus provides nectar to the bees and inspiration to mankind. Appreciate and enjoy this gift.
